Alert Template Library
Introduction
Having templates ready for emergency alerts is crucial for effective crisis communication. These templates serve as a structured framework that enables organizations to quickly disseminate important information to employees, customers, or the public during emergencies. By having pre-prepared templates, agencies and organizations can ensure that key details such as the nature of the emergency, safety instructions, and contact information are communicated clearly and consistently.
The Alert Template Library was developed as a guide to creating alerts to save time and allow users to send well-crafted responses to critical incidents more urgently. This template library contains pre-created message examples for use in Templates, Single Alerts, and Quick Launch. These pre-created messages can be used as-is or modified for your specific needs and/or policies.
When using this template library or creating your own messages, ensure that you include only the most critical, directive information that provides facts and instructions to your targets.
The timing of delivery of emergency messages is also critical to the well-being of your target audience. It is necessary to launch a message quickly in response to an emergency incident. However, consider the urgency of the message since an important message at the wrong time can be disruptive.
It should be noted that messages with Keywords are designed for use with Quick Launch as the information can be filled in prior to sending the alert.
Messages with (_) brackets are free form entry examples, and not considered Keywords that Quick Launch templates would allow for filling in. The (_) placeholders will need to be manually filled in upon alert creation and are included as an example. The {_} brackets are considered Keywords and will be picked up by Quick Launch to fill in.
